A musical tribute from Medellin, Colombia‚ to the 500th Anniversary 
of Spanish explorer Juan Ponce de Leon’s discovery of Florida

This Grammy Award-nominated Colombian instrumental group will deliver an
exquisite recital of traditional Latin–American music from three of their albums. The free
program and accompanying commentary will be presented in Spanish.

Miami Mayor Tomás Regalado will present the musical trio with a special recognition during the recital.

El encuentro se da en el marco de la expoconferencia “Construyamos oportunidades de negocios con el TLC entre Colombia y Estados Unidos”.

Este encuentro será este sábado en el marco la expoconferencia “Construyamos oportunidades de negocios con el TLC entre Colombia y Estados Unidos”, la cual se llevará a cabo en el Adrienne Arsht Center del Downtown de Miami.

La inauguración estará a cargo del alcalde Tomás Regalado y en el mismo intervendrán la presidenta de la Comisión del Condado Miami Dade, Rebeca Sosa y el comisionado Juan Carlos Zapata.

Algunos de los expertos que estarán en este evento organizado por MIRA USA con el soporte académico de Prime Business School de la Universidad Sergio Arboleda de Bogotá, serán el exministro de Comercio de Colombia Carlos Ronderos, expresidente del World Trade Center y miembro de la Junta directiva del World Trade Centers Association en Nueva York, y Juan Carlos Rondón miembro del equipo negociador del Tratado de Libre Comercio entre ambos países.

MIAMI, FL (November 07, 2012) – The South Florida chapter of the Organization of Women in International Trade (OWIT-South Florida), a premier global networking organization for professionals in international business, is proud to announce the winners of the 2012 International Business Woman of the Year (IBWOY) Awards.

Carmen Taylor, managing director of cargo sales for Latin America of American Airlines Cargo, has been selected winner in the Large Company category. A 35-year American Airlines veteran, Taylor offers American’s customers guidance and support in accessing markets in 34 countries in the Americas. Before assuming her current role, Carmen was regional sales manager for American Airlines.

The winner in the Small/Medium Company category is Annette Taddeo-Goldstein, founder and CEO of LanguageSpeak, a nationally renowned translation services company headquartered in Miami, Florida and providing services in 240 languages. LanguageSpeak was ranked a Top 500 Hispanic American Owned Business in the U.S in 2011 and a Top 100 Privately-held Business in Florida in 2011. Annette was the Democratic nominee for Congress and the only Latina challenger in a federal race in 2008.

Carmenza Jaramillo, director of the US office of Proexport Colombia, Colombia’s official investment, tourism and export promotion agency, will receive award in the Service category. Recognized locally and internationally as a advocate for the Colombian government abroad, Carmenza formerly headed the Colombian American Chamber of Commerce, was Consul General of Colombia in Miami and Ambassador of Colombia in India before assuming her current role.

Republicans are going to have to deal with the new reality: yesterday’s election came down to demographics. State Sen. Nina Turner (D-OH), and Annette Taddeo, a former candidate for U.S. Congress (D-FL), discuss the new make-up of the American electorate.

Today Taddeo (Colombian), is considered a rising Hispanic figure in Florida politics, she is a prolific fundraiser and she is a regular guest for Hispanic radio & TV shows. Annette continues to serve her community and her country through her leadership in numerous organizations where she is actively involved. She currently serves on the National Board of the Non-Partisan Women’s Campaign Forum and is on the Advisory Board of Hands on Miami.
